Bring your energy, ideas, and enthusiasm to join us on the board. Make the most of your
Membership and support decisions like:
o New investments

o And more

The Board consists of 10 voting members:
o 4 officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer (2y term)
o 5 Directors (non-officers) (2y term) and
o 1 Membership Chair
We always need more support! If there is enough interest, we’ll add an Assistant Secretary and
the Assistant Treasurer.

How do I join?
Just let us know! Write to board@mctsa.com. We’re always looking to fill new and existing
roles.
How does it work? What would I do?
We meet monthly throughout the year, in person or virtually for 90 minutes. Depending on your role
and your interests, the time you contribute to the Board is up to you!
o President: plans and hosts monthly meetings. Serves as tie-breaking vote when needed.
Serves as President for 1y then supports the next President when term is over.
o Vice President: Supports the President and after serving 1y, Vice President becomes
President.
o Secretary: takes minutes for each meeting, reminds everyone of key decisions.
o Treasurer: manages the accounts of the association, pays bills, reports the budget status
to the Board at each meeting, presents the budget formally to membership annually.
Works with the Board to review the Membership costs and revenues, helping to set
membership dues and supporting investment decisions of the Board and Membership.
o Directors: The Board of Directors are voting Board members who steer the decisions of
the Board. The Directors bring their energy, ideas, and skills to help drive key decisions
about how we run the pool. Many Directors also lead the work of committees, such as
pool grounds, social committee, and more.
Full details on these roles can be found in the MCTSA bylaws, located here.

How can I learn more?
Write to board@mctsa.com or talk to other Members. You’d be surprised at how many familiar
faces have been part of the board, helping make MCTSA the friendly, neighborhood summer
experience where we’ve made memories with our friends and family each summer.

Do I need experience, do I need to win an election?
No and no! Directors learn as you go, and our existing Board members will show you the ropes.
Because we have several vacant spots and needs, you don’t need to worry about winning a
contest, just raise your hand and we’ll welcome you in.
